Armenia (Jones) Mack

Armenia Mack, beloved Aunt, counselor, and friend to many, completed her journey on September 16, 2017, at the age of 98 years.  A native of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Mrs. Mack was one of five children born to James Roger and Jeanie Green Jones on November 25, 1918.  Self-described as "...alert, active, and very happy thanks to the Loving Father Jesus Christ," Mrs. Mack served as a devoted member of the High Street Christian Church where she attended regularly and served on the Christian Women's Fellowship Committee.

Upon completing her training at Madam C.J. Walker Cosmetology College, Armenia Mack lived in Dayton, Ohio for 10 years before opening and operating Mack's Beauty Shoppe from 1959 until her retirement in 1996.  The shop, fueled by her sharp wit and humor, served as a breeding place for laughter, love, and community engagement.  She was a legend, loved and respected by all who knew her.  Mrs. Mack and her husband, Charles (deceased) did not have any children.  However, she was a mother to many, particularly her nephew, Alfonza, and nieces, Valoria, Denise and Anita.  Their love and care was a natural response to her nurturing spirit that bound them together throughout her lifetime.  Aunt Mena or Ms. Armenia, as she was lovingly called, was also cherished by a host of other family and friends.  They invite you all to join in celebrating the life of Armenia Mack.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, at the High Street Christian Church, 401 E. High Street, Mt. Sterling, KY.  The visitation is scheduled for 11:00 AM with a program immediately following at 12:00.  The Reverend Darrell Hayden will officiate the service.
