Betty (Amburgey) Montgomery

Betty Amburgey Montgomery, widow of Everett Montgomery, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017.  She was an 87 year old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late William Isaac and Elizabeth Montgomery Amburgey, a retired plant manager from Jockey International after 45 years, a homemaker, and member of Gateway Christian Church, Paul Harris Fellow Rotary Club and longtime member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by 2 sons, Danny (Phyllis) Montgomery, and Daryl (Nancy) Montgomery, 3 grandchildren, Danna (Daymon) Hughes, Olivia (Nathan) Webb and Alexandra (Ken) Stovall, 3 great-grandchildren, Julianne Christian Webb, Elijah Montgomery Webb and Delilah Montgomery Hughes.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John Everett Montgomery and 3 brothers, Billy Amburgey, Robert Clay Amburgey and Roger Dale Amburgey.

Her funeral will be 10:30 Saturday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation is 9:30-10:30 Saturday. Contributions are suggested to Gateway Christian Church Bereavement Fund.
