Floyd Rose, husband of Lola Tapp Rose, of Sharpsburg, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. He was a 72 year old native of Menifee County, Kentucky, son of the late Grimsey and Lenora Mann Rose, a retired A.O. Smith employee and member of Big Woods Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brad (Gina) Rose of Menifee County, a daughter, Sheila (Ricky) Prater of Owingsville, 4 stepsons, Tony Tapp of Mt. Sterling, Wayne (Kathy) Short and Brad (Rdell) Short, both of Sharpsburg and Bob (Beverly) Short of Camargo, 9 grandchildren, Shelby Rose, Cathy Prater, Alan Michael (Debbie) Tapp, Cody, James, Tyson, Carson and Hunter Short and Lindsey Spence, 4 great-grandchildren, Edward and Morgan Tapp, Marah and Madison Thompson, a brother, Jake (Charlene) Rose and a sister, Kathleen (Jess) Brewer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louie Rose and a sister, Donna (Ronnie) Wilson.
His funeral will be 1:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Jess Brewer presiding, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Sunday. Contributions are suggested to the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
