Ivory A. Wicker, widower of Ruble Lafferty Wicker, of Wurtland, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was a 91 year old native of Floyd County, son of the late John C. and Eva Hoover Wicker, an Army veteran of WWII, retired construction superintendent from Wilson Construction Company, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Raceland.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Stephen) Holt of Raceland, Kentucky, a son, Larry Wicker of Florida, 3 grandchildren, Chaille Holt of Cincinnati, Jessie Wicker of Washington and Crit Aaron Wicker of Florida, 3 great-grandchildren, Oakley Wicker Tejinerina, Killian Wicker Tejinerina and Mody Wicker, and 2 brothers, Aaron Wicker of Jeffersonville and Vinnon Wicker of Alabama. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Wicker and 2 sisters, Gladys Lafferty and Greta Wicker.
His graveside service will be 2:00 Thursday at Martin Cemetery. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
