Margie Shepherd Tackett, widow of Richard Tackett, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018. She was a 77 year old native of Magoffin County, daughter of the late Archer and Mary A. Shepherd, a former employee for a shoe factory and member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Dana (Ronnie) Nester of Jeffersonville and Rita (Duane) Nabholz of Iowa, 4 grandchildren, Amanda (Randy) Adkins, Dwayne (Dana) Akers, Jessica (Morgan) Kidd and Rick Tackett, 5 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild on the way, 4 sisters, Daisy Wireman, Shirley Minix, Donna Johnson, and Sally Hale, 2 brothers, Wade Shepherd and Reggie Shepherd. She was preceeded in death by a son, Rick Tackett, 4 sisters, Birdie Stidam, Edna Hale, Betty Hicks, and Polly Williamson, 4 brothers, Archer Shepherd Jr., William Shepherd, Abe Shepherd, and Richard Joe Shepherd.
Her graveside service will be 1:00 Tuesday at Davidson Memorial Gardens in Floyd County, Brother Russ Taylor presiding. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements. Contributions are suggested to Smile Train, 4307 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
