Nellie May (Ballard) Skidmore

Nellie May Ballard Skidmore, widow of Herbert Hoover Skidmore, of Camargo, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  She was an 87 year old native of Menifee County, daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha Conway Ballard, former factory worker and employee at Windsor Care Center, and a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Arlene (Gary) Willoughby of Georgetown, Sherry Elliott of Jeffersonville and Ladonna Hope Crawford of Georgetown, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Verdon Ballard, Bob Ballard, Donny Ballard and Larry "Butch" Ballard, and 5 sisters, Alma Skidmore, Betty Hall, Shirley Downs, Gayle Amburgey and Connie Parker.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Ballard, a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Taylor and an infant son, Herbert Skidmore Jr.

Pallbearers are Brent Stamm, Jamie Brandenburg, Paul Taylor, Blake Elliott, Joey Craver, Jacob Craver, Brett Stamps. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Downs, Richard Amburgey, John Carter, Johnny Parker, Tom Craver,and Donnie Ballard.

Her funeral will be 11:00 Friday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Skidmore Cemetery.  Visitation is 5-8:00 Thursday.
