Phil Stanley Markland, husband of Pamela Mullins Markland, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was a 67 year old native of Montgomery County, son of the late Narvel Markland and Carrie Oakley Adams, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, retired employee from Avon Army Depot, and member of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Chris (Katie) Markland, Tracy (Gina) Markland, and Brian (Jessica) Markland, 7 grandchildren, his stepfather, Bobby J. Adams, and 2 brothers, Scotty and Bobby Lynn Adams, and a sister, Elizabeth Jones, all of Mt. Sterling. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Allen Markland.
His funeral will be 11:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Jerry Hatton presiding, with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Sunday.
