Robert Gale Murphy, husband of Judy Murphy, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. He was a 75 year old native of Morgan County, son of the late Wendell Murphy and Adeline Bartley Coy, a retired factory worker and member of Jeffersonville Assembly of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bobby Gayle Murphy, 2 daughters, Missy Martin and Becky Barber, 4 grandsons, Damien Murphy, Derek (Ashley) Martin, Darrien Owens and Duran Owens, a granddaughter, Tasha Doughterty, a great-granddaughter, Mandylyn Martin, 2 sisters, Janet (Don) Williams and Pamela (Roger) Stevenson, a brother, Mark (Fran) Coy, 2 nephews, Dane and Derek Huneke, 2 nieces, Christa Gomez and Erin Black, and special friends, Bobby Conn and Kathy Conn. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steve Bartley, his grandmother, Ava Bartley, his dad, Wendell Murphy, his mother, Adeline Coy, and a son, Timothy Dale Barber.
His funeral will be 1:00 Wednesday at Jeffersonville Assembly of God with burial in Lovely Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Tuesday at the church. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
