Shawn Michael McMullen

Shawn Michael McMullen, husband of Carolyn Jones McMullen, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence in Winchester, KY. He was a 65 year old born in Geissen, Germany, son of the late James and Freda Welch McMullen, and member of the Catholic Faith. Shawn was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan who worked as a general manager at a car dealership. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. McMullen; 2 daughters, Tiffany Gent (Joseph) and Madeline; a step daughter, Kelly Planck (John); 9 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Deborah Jacob (Tom), Sheila Wheeler (Tim) and Lisa Martin; special friends, Brian & Jennifer Charles; his fur babies, Markey and Sammy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Shawn was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica.

His funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Hoss Prater presiding with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jordan Fritz, Seneca Anderson, Alec Hunter, Jonathn Taylor, Jared Green and Nick Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Nate Charles, Dwight Holley, Tim Wheeler, Joe Gent and John Planck.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested contributions be made to the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, KY or Hospice East in Winchester, KY.
