Byron "Barney" Stephens

Byron "Barney" Stephens, husband of Doris Stacy Stephens, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019.  He was a 76 year old native of Magoffin County, son of the late Harlen and Maudie Howard Stephens, a carpenter and member of the Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a grandson, Mikeal Dustin Martin, a great-grandson, Daniel Jaden Martin, and 2 sisters, Helen (Jerry) Curtis and Betty Stephens.  He was preceded in death by 3 children, Anna Gayle Stephens, Pamela K. Stephens and Kenneth Wayne Stephens.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Short, and 3 brothers, Harold, Earl and Ray Stephens.

His funeral will be 11:00 Thursday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Scott Barnes presiding, with burial in Eggleston Cemetery.  Visitation is 5-8:00 Wednesday.
