Gerald Lewis Shults Sr., husband of A. Margaret Fransen Shults, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday. He was an 86 year old native of Tracy, Minnesota, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, retired silk screen printer and a member of Eastland Church of God. He was a lifetime member and Pilgrim Degree of the Loyal Order of Moose, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of the Coachmen Caravan Camping Club.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by 4 children, Lisa Stepson (Rick), Gerald Shults Jr. (Mitzi), Sandra Norling, Vicki Barthel (Jerry), 2 brothers, Lewis Shults and Orville Shults, 5 grandchildren, Adam, Krystle, Jason, Alex and Darrell, 11 great-grandchildren, Conner, Trinity, Lucas, Blake, Ethan, Kainen, Noah, Apollo, Elizabeth, Emmalynn, and Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Shults, 4 sisters, Louise Whitten, Bernice Munloch, Kathleen Hawbaker and Mary Anne Barnes, and a daughter, Elizabeth Shults.
His funeral will be 10:00 Saturday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Friday.
