Joe Pete Willoughby, husband of Wanda McClain Willoughby, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was an 82 year old native of Montgomery County, son of the late Nelson and Elmeath Reffitt Willoughby, a retired brick and stone mason and farmer and a member of Hope First Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jimmy "Bub" (Connie) Willoughby, 2 daughters, Connie (Thomas) Cody and Perdita (Hank) Dunn, 3 grandchildren, Feather (Ned) Wafford-Frazier and Justin (Stacey) Wafford, and Kevin Willoughby, 2 great-grandchildren, Zoe Wafford and Logan Wafford, 2 sisters, Margie (Mitchell) McCarty and Linda (Larry) Lukehart, and 5 brothers, Oliver (Mary) Willoughby, Nelson "June Bug" (Bonnie) Willoughby, Stan (Barbara) Willoughby, Alvin (Mattie) Willoughby and Wendell (Karen) Willoughby.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle (Dan) Drake and 2 brothers, Ollie and Allen Willoughby, and his mother-in-law, Ida Amburgey.
His funeral will be 1:00 Wednesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9:00 Tuesday.
