Michael Wayne Cockrell

Michael Wayne Cockrell, 60, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully at his home on September 23, 2019.  He was a retired diesel mechanic, having worked for Ensor Excavation, Rogers Repair, and Mobile Tech, Inc.  He was the son of the late Wayne and Dorothy Cockrell.  He was of the Christian faith. Mike enjoyed trains, ships, farm tractors, and reading.  He was an avid marksman and enjoyed shooting his vast collection of high powered rifles.  He also enjoyed reloading his own ammunition.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra, a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Casey Puckett of Jeffersonville, a grandson, Alex Puckett of Jeffersonville, one sister and brother-in-law, Donna Cockrell and Herman Schmitt of Jeffersonville, one niece, Isabell Schmitt of Jeffersonville, one nephew, Wayne Michael Schmitt, of Jeffersonville, two special young friends, Selena Wheeler of St. Mary's, OH and Griffin Sorrell of Jeffersonville, and 3 very special friends, Gary Sorrell of Jeffersonville, William Reffitt and Mike Rogers,both of Mt. Sterling.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Church with Pastor Paul David Prather officiating.  Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.  Donations may be made to St. Claire Hospice in  lieu of flowers.
