Richard Wayne Van Savage

Richard Wayne Van Savage, age 65, went to be with our Lord on October 14, 2019 in Dallas, Texas.  Richard was the beloved son of Bernard and Laverne Van Savage and was born on January 29, 1954 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  As a big brother to Robert, he was second to none.  Richard worked for the retailer, Target Stores, as an executive for years until his retirement.  In recent years he renewed his Christian faith in Jesus Christ and relied on that faith to courageously navigate through his battle with cancer.

Richard is preceded in death by both of his grandparents and his loving father, Bernard M. Van Savage.  Richard is survived by his beloved mother, Laverne Van Savage-Hutson, his loving stepdad, Gary Hutson, his devoted younger brother, Robert Van Savage (Christine), his nieces, Madison Van Savage-Maben (Alex) and Macey Van Savage and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10:00 am at Machpelah Cemetery. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals in in charge of arrangements.  Richard requested that in lieu of flowers, please make monetary donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN in his memory.
