Roy Reid Obituary

Presiding Elder Emeritus Roy Kenneth Reid, husband of Brenda Blanton Reid, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was a 75 year old native of Hazard, Kentucky, son of the late Leroy and Ila McGuire Reid, a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, a former minister of several Christian Methodist Episcopal Churches, serving in many capacities, including member and chair of the KY Region Conference Board of Trustees, Judicial Council Alternate and General Conference Delegate, and member of Phillips Memorial CME Church in Louisville. He was a member of the Mt. Sterling City Council, Kiwanis Club, Gateway Area Development Board and Mt. Sterling Water & Sewer Board, the Kentucky Council of Churches, as well as other ministerial alliances.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Manfred Reid, Sr. of Louisville, a sister, Joyce Offlee, of Los Angeles, California, a brother-in-law, Derwood (Donna) Blanton, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, as well as his beloved canine "Beastie"..

His funeral will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Keas Tabernacle CME with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 11-1:00
