Samuel "Shep" Douglas Shepherd

Samuel Douglas "Shep" Shepherd, of Trenton, Ohio, went to Heaven suddenly surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.  He was a 67 year old native of Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Jeffersonville, son of the late Samuel and Marie McGuire Shepherd, and retired employee from Armco Steele in Middletown, Ohio after 35 years. He loved hunting, fishing and outdoor activities.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Wanda Kay Johnson and Donna Fay Joseph, 2 nieces, Rhonda Michelle Johnson (Tim) Brown and Deanna Fay Joseph (Jim) Gallion, 2 nephews, Larry Scott Johnson and Darryn Douglas Joseph, 3 great nieces, Desrae, (Triston), Maria and Emily Johnson, 2 great nephews, Jared and Jonathan Brown, and a great-great-nephew, Destan,  and many friends and relatives.  He was Papaw to Hannah and Tanner, God-father to Sammy and Seth Portwood and stepfather to many children.

His funeral will be 2:00 Saturday at Little Ella United Baptist Church, 25 McGuire Lane, Jeffersonville, KY 40337, with burial in McGuire Cemetery.  Visitation is 11-2:00 Saturday at the church where a meal will be provided afterwards.  Donations can be sent to Wanda Kay Johnson, 421 East Home Ave., Trenton, OH, 45067 for his monument.
