Virgie Hughes Obituary

Virgie "Kathy" Parker Hughes, widow of Julian Hughes,of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019. She was a 68 year old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late Harvey Young Parker and Christine Lovey Poore Parker, a homemaker and member of the Christian faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Ann (Sean) Arledge, a son, Chuck (Aaron) Houchin, 3 sisters, Carolyn Fortner, Mary Willoughby and Patsy Mapel, 2 brothers, Harlan (Maudie) Parker, and Harvey (Agnes) Parker Jr. and several nieces and nephews. In addtition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy Houchin, a brother, Wayne Parker.

Her graveside service will be 10:00 Friday at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Thursday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
