Alma Lou Ballard Skidmore, widow of Delmer Skidmore, of Frenchburg, passed away Sunday, February 13 at Windsor Care Center in Mount Sterling. She was an 87 year old born in Frenchburg to the union of the late Ernest and Bertha Conway Ballard, a former factory worker and member of the Christian Faith.
Alma is survived by 2 daughters; JoAnn Gray (Darrell) and Nancy Crouch (Rick), 2 grandchildren; Christopher Spencer and Morgan Sallie (Ryan), 3 brothers; Bob Ballard (Connie), Larry "Butch" Ballard (Ramona) and Donnie Ballard (Freda), 4 sisters; Betty Hall, Shirley Downs (Jim), Gayle Amburgey (Richard) and Connie Parker (Johnny), a dedicated friend; Elizabeth Neace, a host of nieces and nephews along with every stray cat in the neighborhood. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Linda Carol Skidmore, 4 brothers; Clay Ballard Jr., Gary Ballard, William "Bud" Ballard and Verdon Ballard, and 2 sisters; Nellie Skidmore and Mary Arlene Ballard.
Her funeral will be 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Gary Willoughby presiding with a private graveside service for the immediate family to follow. Visitation will also take place at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15.
Pallbearers are: Kevin Combs, James Skidmore, Ryan Sallie, Chris Spencer, Jon Gray and Austin Richards.
