Arthur Thomas "Tuck" Mers, born September 23, 1949, husband of Mary Sue Mers, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away September 7, 2021 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Born in Bourbon County, Kentucky to the late Albert and Glendora Mers and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Besides his wife, he is survived by his special grandchildren; Hailey Dawn Stamper, Jackson Jordan, Aubree Sue Stamper and Harrison Ray Stamper, all of Mt. Sterling, who he loved so much. Also surviving is a son; Joshua Stamper (Tonya) and a daughter; Lisa Michelle Stamper also of Mt. Sterling, KY, a sister; Brenda Crawford of Irvine, KY and a brother; Mike (Loretta) Mers of Sharpsburgh, KY.
He was a full-time dedicated employee of The Walker Company for the past 43+ years. His main goal was to keep working so he could get his granddaughter Hailey through medical school.
He loved watching his westerns on the weekends and always loved it when Hailey would be there to joke around with him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Buddy Mers of North Middletown, KY, a brother-in-law; John Crawford of Irvine, KY and a special cousin; William Brooks Mers of Paris, KY.
His funeral will be 2:00 Saturday, Pastor Cecil Wayne Curtis presiding with burial to follow in the North Middletown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers: Jakob White, Ray Botts, Chris Lawson, Greg Spencer, David Helton, and Justin Botts.
Honorary Pallbearers: David Robertson, Jason Caldwell, Bill Taulbee, Arthur Walker, and Terry Botts.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
