Betty Hughes Caskey, widow of Curt E. Caskey, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her residence in Jeffersonville. She was an 83 year old born in Powell County, daughter of the late Lloyd F. and Joyce Hughes, a former restaurant owner, kitchen manager and member of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by 3 children; Cheryl Stephens (Danny), Connie Renee Caskey-Keith (Bill) and Charles Caskey, 4 grandchildren; Curtis Stephens (Savannah), Melisa Robbins (Roy Dale), Jessica Stephens and Cameron Caskey, 4 great grandchildren; McKenzie Robbins, Alex Patton, Cooper Stephens and Josie Stephens, 4 brothers; Tyler Hughes (Hyla), Alton Hughes (Kathy), Teddy Hughes (Lisa) and Sammy Hughes (Pam), 3 sisters; Kathy Couch, Hattie Jones (James) and Rosa Elliot (Jerry), several nieces & nephews, 4 special friends; Marjorie Catron, Virginia Puckett, Danny Ray Townsend and Winfred Hughes, as well as her 2 special caregivers of Key Independence; Becky Jones and Von McVey. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Danny Hughes and Dean Hughes as well as 2 sisters; Estille King and Dolly Hughes
Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Wade Martin Hughes presiding with burial to follow in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Danny Ray Townsend, Cameron Caskey, Charles Caskey, Curtis Stephens, McKenzie Robbins and Barry McCoy. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Keith, Danny Stephens, her brothers and sisters, Danny Ray Townsend and Winfred Hughes.
