Billie Dee Thorne McCarthy, widow of Donald Sain and Tim McCarthy, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at her residence in Mt. Sterling, KY. She was a 77 year old born in Sturgis, South Dakota to the union of the late Billy D. and Edith Williams Thorne, a homemaker and member of the Christian Faith.

She is survived by 3 sons, Dennis Sain (Amanda), Donny Sain (Nancye) and Billy Sain (Cathy); 11 grandchildren, Christian Sain, Jasmine Brady (Jesse Hogge), Trey Brady, Taylor Watkins (Thomas Rison), Britney Sain (Marty Simonetti), Kaylee Sain, Ireland Sain, Caleb Sain, Isabella Sain, John Garrett Sain and Haley Helms (Justin); 5 great grandchildren, Micah Hogge, Aubrey Hogge, Holland Sage Gay, Kashton Watkins and Tinley Helms; 2 sisters, LaVerne Thorne (Daryl Dries) and Anita Walters (Don); along with a brother, Jonathan Hoffmeier (Carol). In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Sain; her second husband, Tim McCarthy; and a granddaughter, Savannah Sain.

Her memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with David Hale presiding. Visitation will take place prior to the memorial service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
