Bonita Scott Obituary

Bonita Hunt Scott received her wings on January 16, 2022. She went home to be with the lord and once again to be with her husband “Dinky”.

Bonita was a native of Montgomery County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Roger Dink Scott. Bonita was the daughter of the late James Jewell Hunt Sr. (Lucille Barnes Hunt), step-mother; Pauline R. Hunt. 

She was also proceeded in death by her brother Paul Donae` Hunt, Gino Regan and cousin Larry Garrett.

Bonita was a graduate of Mt. Sterling High School and was employed by Montgomery County High School as a bookkeeper for 33 years.

Bonita was the loving mother and best friend to daughter Sonya Indinae Scott and her granddaughter, partner at heart Elise (Alecia) Scott and great grandson Tyjhai Hackler. She also leaves to cherish her memories her brothers, Gary (Denise, deceased) Hunt or Mt. Sterling, KY, James Jewell Jr. (Judy) Hunt, of Louisville, KY, Eric (Kathryn) Hunt of Lexington, KY. Nina Jouett of Mt. Sterling, Alfego (Melissa)Ragan of Mt. Sterling, KY, Tyron (Charity) Ragan of Louisville, KY.

Bonita has two brothers-in-law, George Scott and James deceased (Linda)Scott

Bonita has several nieces and nephews Deshauna Ragan, Amber Hunt, James Jewell Hunt III, Brittney (Dr. Steven Kniffley) Hunt, Dr. Erica (Spencer Summerville) Hunt, Deidra (Derek)Talbert, Candace Crooks-Scott, Akeem (Jennifer) Scott, Keia (Jimmy) Scott-Newsome, Tara Thomas and Tyra Thomas,

Nieces and Nephews which she helped raise, Johnny E. Story of Nashville Tn, Roxzedema McKee of Salam, Al. and Lee Story of Mt. Sterling, KY. She also has a several great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of relatives and friends which she loved.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022. There will be a private family service after the visitation with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery, Rev. Arthur Douthitt presiding. The family requests that all people attending the visitation wear masks and practice social distancing.
