Brett Howard Goodpaster

Brett Howard Goodpaster passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his residence in Berea, KY. He was a 51-year-old native of Bath County (Montgomery County Graduate). His parents were Ronnie Nelson Goodpaster and the late Regina Baker-Goodpaster. Brett enjoyed staying busy and working with his hands. This led to a perfect paring with the family’s line of work including that of his late uncle Jimmy Goodpaster and father Ronnie. Together they worked for years as contactors for the Harget Corporation at Lexmark. In later years, he owned his own business as a self-employed contractor.

In addition to his loving fur babies, he is survived by his father, Ronnie Goodpaster (Gracie), a sister, Robyn Baldwin (Harold), a niece, Holly Roberts and 3 nephews; Ian Roberts (Morgan), Devin Roberts and Zachary Roberts (Arizona) and may special great nieces and nephews. Brett was preceded in death by his loving mother, Regina Baker-Goodpaster and two uncles Jimmy Goodpaster, and Howard C. Baker.

His funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Zachary Roberts presiding, with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers: Ian Roberts, Devin Roberts, Matt Goodpaster, Jacob Wells, Matt Panelli and Kevin Willoughby.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Madison County Animal Shelter and Love of Paws Mt. Sterling.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
