Carl Louis Otten

Carl Louis Otten, widower of Jewell Traylor Otten, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his residence in Mount Sterling, KY. He was a 94 year old born in Switzer, KY to the late Carl and Mary Cline Otten. Carl was an Army Veteran, a foreman at Tennessee Gas Pipeline and member of the First Church of God.

He is survived by a son, Carl Wayne Otten (Suzanne); 2 grandchildren, Carl David Otten (Chelsie) and Nicholas Luce; along with 3 great grandchildren, Carlee Rose Otten, Holt Otten and Waylon Luce. In addition to his wife and parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Nealis; and 3 brothers, George Otten, David "Hoot" Otten and Jimmy Otten.

His funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Jeff Perkins presiding with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Carl David Otten, Nicholas Luce, Jeff Spencer, Daniel Bailey, Jerry Gibbs and Matthew Carpenter.
