Carolyn (Jones) Stewart

Carolyn Jones Stewart, wife of George C. Stewart, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Wesley Commons Nursing Home in Greenwood, South Carolina. She was an 88 year old born in Sharpsburg, KY to the union of the late Carl and Grace Triplett Jones, a homemaker and member of the Christian Faith. Carolyn was a wonderful woman and perfect mother, she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband; George C. Stewart, 2 sons; Jeff Stewart (Lori) and Phil Stewart (Rachelle), a daughter-in-law; Nicole Stewart, 7 grandchildren; Catherine, Ashley, Natalie, Courtney, Nicholas, Lydia and Carolann, as well as 2 sisters; Ruth Welch and Juanita Oaks. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by 2 sons; Bobby Stewart and Douglas Stewart, and 4 brothers; William Jones, Everett Jones, Charles Jones and Carl Jones Jr.

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor George C. Stewart presiding with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Jeff Stewart, Phillip Stewart, Tom Blackburn, Greg Whitt, Brad Frizzell and Gary Henderson. There will also be one honorary pallbearer, John Dunaway.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
