Charlene Cornwell Patton, widow of Robert Patton, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024. She was an 82-year-old born in Menifee County, KY to the late Clarence and Delphia Creech Cornwell. She was the owner and operator of several flower shops and a member of Spring Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Mike) Everman; 2 granddaughters, Melanie Everman (Zach Crawford) and Presley (Kevin) Liggett; 2 grandsons, Kyle Everman and Daniel Patton McKinley; 5 great-grandchildren, Dylan McKinley, Riley McKinley, Von McKinley, Stryder Liggett and Vega Liggett; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, many special friends and her beloved church family at Spring Street Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Danette Patton; a brother, Wilson Luther Ford; and 2 sisters, Anna Jane Thomas and Clotine (Tennie) James.
Her funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Brother Larry Robinson presiding with a private burial to follow. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Kevin Liggett, Mike Everman, Kyle Everman, Daniel McKinley, Dylan McKinley, and Zach Crawford. Contributions are suggested to Spring Street Baptist Church, 442 Spring Street, or Montgomery County Senior Citizens, 108 Locust Street.
