DONALD RAY ENSOR Obituary
Donald Ray Ensor, 92, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Thomas Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. He was born on September 17, 1933, in Mt. Sterling to the late Sidney and Newell Trimble Ensor. Don proudly served in the U.S. Army. A graduate of Mt. Sterling High School and the 1952 Trojan Football MVP, he remained a devoted supporter of the Trojans and enjoyed attending Mt. Sterling sports events throughout his life. Don worked in Sales at US Steel Corporation in Cincinnati for 30 years and Trojan Inc. (Saf T Cote lighting) in Mt. Sterling for 32 years before he retired.
Donald is survived by his 2 daughters: Kim (Jerry) Wilson of Mt. Sterling and Teresa Ensor of Arlington, TX; 5 grandchildren: Jessica Simpson, Patrick Simpson, Phillip (Melissa) Wilson, Nathan (Stephanie) Wilson and Nick (Whitney) Wilson; 4 great grandchildren: Klae Wilson, Addison Wilson, Jordan Farrington and Madeline Ramirez.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife Ann Otis Ensor; 3 brothers: Harold Ensor, Earl Ensor, Sid Ensor and 4 sisters: Elizabeth McClain, Roberta Smith, Pauline Moore and Elnora Profitt.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14th. Officiating will be Hammer McGuire. Full Military Rites by the Montgomery County Post 22 American Legion.
Burial to follow at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, KY.
Pallbearers: Phillip Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Nick Wilson, Klae Wilson, Shane Farrington, Patrick Simpson.
Honorary Pallbearers: Archie Otis, Darrell Ensor, Eddie Otis, Terry Ensor, Billy Carter, Greg Stone.
