David Allen Hargis, husband of Dena Fouch Hargis, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Thomas, WV. He was a 58 year old born in Lexington, KY to Ronald Lee Hargis and the late Charlotte Crouch Hargis, a welder for Blackstone Mining Company and member of Church of The Living God. David was an outdoorsman who had a huge heart.

He is survived by his wife, Dena Hargis; a son, David Cole Hargis; a step son, Dereck Halsey; 5 grandchildren, Jordan Hargis, Haley Hargis, Natalie Hargis, Maelyn Halsey and Shelbie Halsey; his father, Ronald Lee Hargis; a sister, Rebecca Hargis; a brother, Jacob Hargis (Maggie); a sister in law, Frances Lakes (Dale); 4 nieces, Victoria Hargis, Rachel Zarakas (Steffan), Laura Pritchard (Corey) and Kaitlin Turner (Jordan); a nephew, Zachary Blevins (Taylor); 2 great nieces, Harper Blevins and Adalynn Blevins; along with 4 great nephews, Grant Pritchard, Bobby N. Blevins, Kaden Blevins and Porter Blevins. In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Edna Hargis; his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Victoria Crouch; his mother in law, Irene Fouch; his father in law, James Henry Fouch; and a nephew, Bobby Blevins.

His funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Patrick Lager presiding with burial to follow in Henry Fouch Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Dereck Halsey, Chester Crabtree, Zachary Blevins, Justin Perkins, Donald Crouch and Cole Hargis. Jacob Hargis will be an honorary pallbearer.
