ELLIS KENDRICK

Ellis Kendrick, age 91, of Jeffersonville, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling surrounded by his family.  Ellis was born to the union of the late Alton and Myrtle Kendrick on December 24, 1933, in Mt. Sterling, KY.  He was the widower of the late Lucille Martin Kendrick.  Ellis proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.   He was a carpenter by trade and loved working with his hands.  His favorite pastimes were spent hunting and fishing and just being in nature.  He loved all animals in general.  He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.  Above all, his family meant more to him than anything and he would do anything for them.

Ellis is survived by 1 daughter Beverly (Ewell) Simpson of Mt. Sterling, 1 son Ricky (Lisa) Kendrick of Jeffersonville, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; 3 brothers-Alton Kendrick, Jr. of Jeffersonville, Michael Kendrick of Jeffersonville, Darrell Kendrick of Mt. Sterling.

Besides his wife and parents, Ellis was preceded in death by 1 son Ellis Ray Kendrick, 4 sisters Marie Martin, Mary Jo Martin, Phyllis Stone and Nancy Baker.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, at 3 p.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Herald & Stewart Chapel. 

Burial will follow at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville with full military rites by the American Legion Post 22.

Pallbearers: Logan Kendrick, Chris Kendrick, Austin Henderson, Mike Henderson, Jason Conway, Joe Simpson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Carson Kendrick, Shawn Anderson, Zach Martin.
