Evelyn Gevedon, age 93, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 5, 2026.  Evelyn was born October 1, 1932, in West Liberty KY, to the late Elijah and Hester Haney Gevedon.  Evelyn was blessed to have come from a large family and to have had her own large family.  She dedicated her life to caring for and loving her children and many grand & great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of the Christian Assembly of God.

Evelyn is survived by 3 daughters: Penny Lawson of Mt. Sterling, Cathy Lawson of Mt. Sterling, Kim Banks of Middleton, Ohio; 2 sons: Jan Lawson (Kathy Spencer) of Middletown, Ohio, Scott (Tracy) Lawson of Middletown, Ohio;  11 grandchildren: Jeff Skinner, Graham (Angie) Skinner, Tiffany Spencer, Ashley (Franky) Lagunas, Misty (Ruben) Gamboa, Todd (Rachel) Banks, Josh Lawson, Jon Lawson, Brittany Lawson, Jason Lawson, Nick (April) Skinner; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Betty Vinson of Mt. Sterling, Jan Thompson of Mt. Sterling and Lee Benton of Wauconda, IL.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Chuck Genedon, Homer Gevedon, Jimmy Gevedon, Elmer Gevedon, Eugene Gevedon; 5 sisters: Susan Peyton, Mary Jo Thompson, Jeanie Benton, Christine Schmidt, Eunice Black.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9th at the Christian Assembly of God, 1834 Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling; Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.  Officiating will be Scott Barnes.

Burial to follow at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery, Jeffersonville, KY.
