Elsie Becraft Byrd, widow of Johnny Louis Byrd, of Vanceburg, formerly of Mt. Sterling, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was a 73 year old born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the union of the late Shirley and Mattie Whitt Becraft, a retired cook from Mary Chiles Hospital and St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital, and a member of Grace Assembly of God.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Billy) Saylor, 2 sons, Jeff (Angie) Byrd and Jerry (Dottie) Byrd, 9 grandchildren, Jeff (Trish) Byrd Jr., Johnathan (Felicia) Byrd, Tim (Brittney) Byrd, Dusty (Twila) Saylor, Rusty (Liz) Saylor, Amy (Dillon) Faulkner, Rachelle Saylor, Matt Byrd and Mattie Byrd, 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Irvine Becraft, a nephew, Kenny Becraft and a niece, Shirley Becraft.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Tommy and Junior Becraft and a grandson-in-law, Jason Dillon.
Her funeral will be 1:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Michael Blair presiding, with interment in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Sunday.
