Emma Kathryn Thomas Fletcher of Mt. Sterling, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022. She was a 77 year old native of Montgomery County and the daughter of the late Sally Clay Bigstaff and Roger D. Thomas. She was a member of High Street Christian Church inf Mt. Sterling, Kentucky
Emma graduated at the top of her class from DuBois High School. She would later enroll at Nu-Tek Academy of Beauty where she pursued her dream of becoming a beautician. After the birth of her children she became a homemaker prior to accepting a position at the Windsor Care Nursing Center where she retired after nearly two decades of service.
She is survived by 2 sons, Hendri Thomas (Ramona) of Georgia and Elbert Lee Soles Jr. of Mt. Sterling, 2 daughters, LaDonna Jones of Georgia and Roberta Soles of Mt. Sterling, 1 stepdaughter, Dorothy Fletcher of Lexington, 1 goddaughter, Barbara J. Hopewell of Morehead, a brother-in-law, William Marvin Jones, Sr. of Mt. Sterling, special cousins, Charlotte Henderson of Mt. Sterling and Olivia Kelley of Indiana, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Emma is preceded in death by her late husband, Clyde Fletcher Sr. and her sister, Elizabeth D. Jones.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Both services will be held at High Street Christian Church in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky with burial in Olive Hill Cemetery. Rev. Darrell Hayden will be officiating the service. The family is requesting that all visitors wear a splash of yellow as it was Emma's favorite color.
