Equillis King, husband of Sue Moore King, of Jeffersonville, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was a 74 year old born in Powell County to the union of the late English and Mattie Willoughby King, an Army veteran, an employee at Town & Country, a farmer and member of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Jason (Tina) King and Chris (Sonya) King, 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Braydon and Braxton King, 4 brothers, Bedford, Tom, John and Chester King, 7 sisters, Alta Roach, Janet Meadows, Vina Morton, Olga Sullivan, Margaret Colett, Marsha McCoy, and Mable McIntosh, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy King, a brother, Donald King and a sister, Bonnie Morton.
His funeral will be 2:00 Wednesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Scott Barnes presiding, with burial in Moore Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8:00 Tuesday. Pallbearers are Willey Miller, Mike Skidmore, Rickey Lewis, Foy Whitaker, Corey Grigsby, Josh Centers, sons and grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Knott County Trail Riders, Town & Country employees and friends, Butch Chambers, Doyle Keeton, Robbie and Dean Elliott, Mike Centers, Manuel Samaniego, and Bobby Pargen.
