Eva Lee Morton, beloved mother and granny, 88 years old, departed this earth for her heavenly home November 25, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital, Mt. Sterling, KY. Eva was born June 20, 1932 in Stanton, KY to the union of Roy and Gracie Brandenburg McCoy. Eva was a devoted and treasured granny to her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Robert Morton, and his wife, Kathy, of Camargo, KY, grandchildren, Jason (Jan) Morton, Jessica Ingram, Melody (Chris) Noel, Ryan Morton, Hayden Morton, Kyle and Kevin Morton, and five great-grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Clell Morton, one son, James Morton, her parents, Roy and Gracie Brandenburg McCoy, brothers, Shirley, Johnny, Roy Jr. and Jesse McCoy, sisters, Ethel Napier, Weeda Amburgey, Geneva Terrill, Opal Watson and Zannie McCoy.
Eva had been a resident of Edgewood Nursing Home in Frenchburg, KY for several years. She loved and was loved dearly by the staff who adopted her as their granny also. Eva referred to Edgewood as home and the staff as family. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting and loved being a part of her homemakers group where she formed many lasting friendships.
There will be a private funeral service conducted by Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are George and Imogene Updike, Larry and Bonnie Back, Janice Conway, Tiffany Conway, Brad Berry, Camargo Homemakers and Edgewood Nursing Home Staff.
