GARRETT "GARY" CANNON Obituary

Garrett “Gary” Wayne Cannon, age 79, of Paris, KY, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Hospital, Lexington, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.   Gary was born September 13, 1945 in North Middletown to the late Willie and Mattye Lee Chambers Cannon.  Gary proudly served his country in the Air Force and Army Reserve working in communications.  He worked many years at the Avon-Bluegrass Army Depot in telephone communications.  Besides farming, Gary also was a Volunteer Fireman, A Bourbon County Constable, a member of the Masonic Lodge #23.  He was a member of the Church of Christ. Gary dedicated his life to caring for his family and his community.

Gary is survived by his brother Keith (Paula) Cannon of Paris, KY; 2 sisters Judith Willene Cannon of Paris, Joyce Janelle Cannon of Paris; 2 nieces: Denise (Ryan) Donithan, Casey (Jose) Castro-Bracho; 2 nephews: Garrett Allen Cannon, Clay Eric Cannon.

A Celebration Of Life will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at  2 p.m. at the Herald & Stewart Chapel.  Visitation at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Officiating will be Stephanie Moon.

Full Military Rites by the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post 22.
