Gary Lynn Piersawl

Gary Lynn Piersawl, widower of Karen Piersawl, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a 67 year old born in Montgomery County to the union of the late Raymond and Sally Ruth Owens Piersawl, a retired Marine and Army Sargent who served our country for 39 years. Gary was a member of the 1975 Graduating Class of Montgomery County High School, a quiet person who loved to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his yard, talking and interacting with people who passed by. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by 2 sons, Jason Lee Piersawl and Paul Wilson; 10 grandchildren including Dylan Blevins, Katelin Blevins and Ian Burrus; a brother, Julian Piersawl (Elizabeth); 5 nephews, Keith Piersawl (Krysti), Aaron Piersawl, Tim Anderson, Mike Piersawl (Tanya) and Derrick Piersawl; along with 4 nieces, Lynn Piersawl, Noell Piersawl, Tina Anderson and Monique Piersawl. In addition to his wife and parents, Gary was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Michael Piersawl and William Piersawl; and a sister, Wanda Anderson.

His funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with Rev. Arthur Douthitt presiding. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors conducted.
