IRENE (NEWTON) ROBINSON

Irene Newton Robinson, age 76, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Joseph Main Hospital in Lexington, KY.  Irene was born in Winchester, KY, on January 22, 1950, to the late Edgar and Dale Townsend Longley.  Blessed with a large family, 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, Irene happily dedicated her life to caring for them all. She loved cooking, her flower gardens and mowing. She was a member of the Trinity Church of God.

Irene is survived by 1 daughter- Malissa (Bradley) Thomas of Mt. Sterling; 1 son-Stephen Robinson of Mt. Sterling; 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren;  special granddaughter Kimberly Englund; 1 sister-Diana Anderson of Winchester; 1 brother-Chuck Newton of Alabama; 1 daughter-in-law-Kathleen Denise Robinson of Jeffersonville.

Other than her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Larry Wayne Robinson; her son Michael Robinson; 2 sisters: Brenda Nelson and Kathy Hatton.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.Friday, September 18th at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals.
A Graveside Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18th at North Middletown Cemetery.  Officiating will be Billy Keller.  

Pallbearers: Joe Ross, Michael Robinson, Anthony Rice, Bradley Thomas, Bobby Rice, Ryan Robinson.
