JOHNNIE TABOR

Johnnie Tabor, age 90, of Jeffersonville, KY, passed away at the Windsor Care Center on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Johnnie was born July 29, 1935 in Jeffersonville, KY to the late Woodford and Ressie Alsept Tabor.   Johnnie worked hard in construction building many homes in the area with the Tabor Builders Construction team. He was a member of the Baptist faith, the Masonic Lodge #23 and Oleika Shriners of Lexington.

Johnnie is survived by 2 sons: Johnnie Howard (Jenny) Tabor and Kirby (Marsha) Tabor;  6 grandchildren: April (Bryan) Lawson, Megan (Jeremy) Greene, Sarah (Brandon) Thorpe, Brandi (Eric) Cook, Maci (Jared) Daniels and Spencer (Sydney) Tabor; 4 great grandchildren: Mason Lawson, Shelby Lawson, Kyra Wheeler and Jameson Daniels.  1 brother Bobby Tabor; 3 sisters Anna Marie Montgomery, Phyllis Craig and Dessie Howard.  And special care givers Tonya Ratliff, Evelyn Asher, Jeanie Phelps and Paula Thorpe.

Besides his parents, Johnnie was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Shirley Caudill Tabor; 1 son James Doodle Tabor; several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.  at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals Chapel.   Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.   Officiating will be Charles “Hammer” McGuire.

Burial will follow at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery, Jeffersonville, KY.

Pallbearers:  Eric Cook, Bryan Lawson, Mason Lawson, Jared Daniels, Spencer Tabor, Brandon Tabor.
