James Denver Campbell, 82 years old, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Lexington, KY with his family by his side. . He was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the union of the late John T. and Stanley Reed Campbell. During his lifetime, James became an Army veteran, retiree of Rockwell International ,former employee of Columbia Gulf and member of Jeffersonville Baptist Church. He was also known to many as a lifetime farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years and love of his life, Geraldine Campbell. He has two sons, James Kevin Campbell and Timothy Glenn Campbell (Denise), and a daughter, Michelle Williams (Chuck). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jordan Campbell, Ashli Nelson (Ryan), Allison Bailey (Zach), Jackson Campbell and Austin Williams, a great-grandson, Liam Bailey, a step-grandson, Jacob Estes. He has two brothers, Ricky and David Campbell, and four sisters, Joyce Campbell, Freida Montgomery, Carrie Kemplin and Marie Reed. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Johnny and Wayne Campbell and three sisters, Sonya and Maudie Campbell and Elnora Grooms.
The funeral for James Denver Campbell will be held at 1:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor David Campbell presiding. The burial will follow in Lovely Amburgey Cemetery where American Legion will have military rites. Visitation will be 5:00 pm-8:00pm on Sunday. Pallbearers are Kevin Campbell, Timothy Campbell, Austin Williams, Jackson Campbell, Jordan Campbell, Ryan Stephens, Zach Baley and Jacob Estes. Honorary pallbearers are Allison Bailey, Ashli Nelson, Barry Ewen and Raymond Ewen.
