James Campbell Obituary

James Kevin Campbell, of Mt. Sterling, KY, age 59, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024 at the UK Medical Center surrounded by family.  Kevin was born May 7, 1965 in Fort Campbell, KY to the union of the late James Denver Campbell and Geraldine Creech Campbell.  Kevin was a longtime member of the Living Water Church.

Kevin was known for his boundless compassion and willingness to give to others in need. Kevin lived his life in the spirit of Christ, quietly serving others with a smile and a heart of gold.

A lifetime resident of Jeffersonville, Kevin developed a brilliant mind for cars and became renowned across Kentucky as one of the best transmission specialists in the area. His deep love for cars was evident in his pride for his infamous green Chevrolet truck, affectionately dubbed the "Green Bean" by his family. His hands were rarely still, always tinkering under the hood or finding ways to make life a little better for those around him.

He found great joy in traveling, visiting more than 20 countries, often sharing these adventures with his loved ones. In addition to his immediate family, Kevin also had the privilege of being a "Kentucky dad" to 25 exchange students from around the world, who all found a second home in his care.

Kevin's legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering kindness. He will be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him, and for his steadfast dedication to his family, his friends, and his faith.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Rachel Cartmill Campbell of Mt Sterling, KY; 2 sons– Jordan (Marc) Campbell and Jackson (Micah) Campbell both of Mt. Sterling;  His mother Geraldine Campbell of Jeffersonville;  1 sister—Michelle (Chuck) Williams of Jeffersonville;  1 brother—Timothy Glenn (Denise) Campbell of Jeffersonville;  Several Beloved Nieces and Nephews, a special great Nephew Liam Bailey and several beloved Grand Dogs.
