James Michael "Mike" Mitchell

James Michael "Mike" Mitchell, husband of Jeanette Chapman Mitchell, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, KY. He was a 70 year old born in Lexington, KY to the late Clarence "Toots" Mitchell Jr. and Margaret Elizabeth Wallace Mitchell, a Marine Veteran, electrician and member of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Mitchell; 2 sons, Randall Scott "Poss" Mitchell (Donna) and Jamie Rice; a step daughter, Leah Lykins; 7 grandchildren, Cierra Charles, Abigail Lykins, Christian Hensley, Briana Hensley, Kaleb Mitchell, Hayley Mitchell and Arington Mitchell; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Joe Mitchell (Sherry); a sister, Sharon Tackett (George); along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert "RC" Mitchell and Tommy Mitchell; a half brother, William F. Mitchell Sr.; and a sister, Margaret "Lump" Seales.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with Mike Phillips presiding. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the funeral home.
