Jerrie Lena Darnell

Jerrie "Sister" Darnell died January 17, 2022 at Mayfield Manor in Lexington, KY. She was an 87-year-old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late Harry and Allene Scott Darnell and a member of High Street Christian Church. She attended Dubois High School and went on to work at Cowden Manufacturing where she retired from. 

Jerrie is survived by one daughter; Darlene Darnell, one granddaughter; Alicia Darnell, one great-grandson; Brayden Burgess, two brothers; Jack Darnell and Michael Darnell (Vicki), all of Montgomery County, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers; Vernan, Eugene, Harry Jr., James, Scotty, and Claude Darnell along with one sister; Sara Darnell. 

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Rev. Darrell Hayden presiding with burial to follow in Olive Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Kevin Darnell, Zavier Darnell, Lawerence Hines, Hobert Owens, Tony Douthitt and Lorenzo Taylor.
