Obituary

Johnny Swiney, husband of Fayetta Lee Swiney, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, KY. He was a 94 year old born in Pike County, KY to the union of the late James and Caroline Swiney, a Korean War Veteran, coal miner and member of the Pentecostal Faith.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fayetta Lee Swiney; a sister, Patricia Belcher (Ray); and a brother, Mack Swiney (Carol). In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Swiney; a brother, Gabriel Swiney; and 4 sisters, Lola Clevinger (Chester), Grace Ward (Bobby), Ann Compton (Lance) and Ruth Schuman (Bob).

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Christian Assembly of God, Pastor Scott Barnes presiding with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
