Obituary
Joyce Lillian Tackett Walters, widow of Cleveland Walters, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at her residence in Owenton, KY. She was an 82 year old born in Montgomery County to the union of the late Beldon and Gertie Sexton Tackett, a homemaker and member of Little Ella United Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 sons, Steve Walters (Cindy) and Gary Walters; a daughter, Vicky Walters (Rodney McCormick); 2 grandchildren, Orion "Ry" Baker (Lindsey) and Josh Walters; 3 great grandchildren, Elijah Walters, Brianna Walters and Lavender Baker; 2 sisters, Levon Roop and Betty Maness; a brother, Alan Tackett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Judy Maness and Janis Arnett.
Her funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Little Ella United Baptist Church, Brothers Steve McGuire, Roger McGuire and Bobby Tabor presiding, with burial to follow in Oldfield Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Little Ella United Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Josh Walters, "Ry" Baker, Ray Traylor, Rick Traylor and Chris Walters.
Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
