Katherine Chenault Obituary

On June 13, 2024, God called a beloved, mother, grandmother, servant, and a friend to many home. Katherine Chenault was born February 11, 1946 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Louise Garrett and the late David Asberry.

Katherine was a proud Dubois High School Hornet and loved her hometown of Mt. Sterling, KY. She was a faithful member of Community Christian Church, of Mt. Sterling, KY. Katherine was a little lady with a big heart. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Katherine’s joy was her children and grandchildren. Her love was incomparable. She enjoyed animals (especially cats), the Farmer’s Market, Wheel of Fortune, planting flowers, and sitting on the porch on nice days.

Katherine was preceded in death by her son, Reuben Asberry; stepdaughter, Bettina Cole; and siblings Anna ‘Sue’ Laura Murrell, Katie Lowry, David Asberry Jr., and Thomas F. Asberry.

Katherine is survived by her three children: Cynthia (Hosey) Williams of Kathleen, GA, Walter Chenault Jr. of Georgetown, KY, and David (Mary) Chenault of Maysville, KY. Her grandchildren: DaChelle Chenault, of Atlanta, GA, Xavier Greene, of Virginia Beach, VA, Isaiah (Kyra and Mateo) Chambers, Seth Chambers, and Matthew Chambers all of Maysville, KY, Taria (Kevin) Booker of Mt. Sterling, Ky, Dwight (Brenda) Overstreet of Morgantown, WV, and her grand-animals: Simba, Oreo, and Duce.

Katherine leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Including three special friends Wanda Jones and Violet George both of Mt. Sterling, KY and Hilda Hayward of Warner
Robbins, GA. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Walker Jr. and family also held a very special place in her heart.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Olive Hill Cemetery. If you wish to bring food or flowers to the family, you may do so at the Civic Center beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Proverbs 31: 10 and 25-31 KJV

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.                                                                                                                                                                                     Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
