Kenneth Earl "Cotton" Taulbee, age 77, son of the late Lawrence and Alma Taulbee, passed away peacefully at his residence in Bourbon County with his special relatives and caregivers, Mike and Patty Taulbee July 4, 2021. He was a retired farmer and a life long resident of Bourbon County. He enjoyed taking care of his special horse, Hot Shot, and socializing with his many friends. He also held the free throw record in North Middletown.
He is survived by a son, Mark Alan Taulbee and a daughter, Laura Taulbee Starns of Lexington, KY, a brother, Bill Taulbee of Bourbon County, a sister, Mary Sue Mers (Arthur "Tuck") of Mt. Sterling, KY, 2 grandchildren, Madison Starns and Landon Starns, 2 great-grandchildren, Houston Rodgers and Memphis Rodgers, several cousins, nieces, nephews and an aunt Rachel Tester of Colorado. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Denzil Taulbee, 2 sisters, Gwenda Faye Taulbee and Ruth Anne Sebastian, and a grandchild, Shelby Lauren Starns.
Cotton's funeral will be Saturday, July 10, at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with Pastor Garry Stith presiding and burial to follow in the North Middletown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-2:00 with services beginning at 2:00.
Pallbearers are Terry Taulbee, Tommy Taulbee, Jeremy Taulbee, Josh Stamper, Kenny Gibson and Jimmy Gibson. Honorary pallbearers are Landon Starns, Sandy Taulbee Saylor, Cherie Taulbee Noble, Randy Taulbee, Peggy Taulbee Crump, Debbie Sidles, Regina Young, Lisa Stamper and Paul Lyle.
