Luke James Pierce, age 19, of Mt Sterling, KY, is the treasured son of Kelly Pierce, grandson of Debbie Pierce and the late Jim Pierce. He is the brother of Katie, Emma, and Morgan Howell. He was born January 16, 2007 and left this earth too soon, Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He is also remembered by his Aunt Sarah Pierce (Mike Harvey) and beloved nieces Aubree and Addyson Harvey.
Luke graduated from Montgomery County High School in 2025 and then moved on to living his best life as a member of the UPike Bass Fishing Team. He was a member of the Montgomery Co. Fish & Game Club, Montgomery Co. 4H Shooting Sports, and an alumni member of the Montgomery Co High School Bass Fishing Team.
There aren’t words to describe the kind of heart Luke had. He was the guy who stopped on the side of the road to help a total stranger. He showed up for his people, all the time, and not when it was convenient for him but right when they asked. He excelled in Shooting Sports and there are lots of skilled marksmen in the community thanks to him. He never met a pond he couldn’t pull fish out of or a boat he couldn't make shine. He measured his success one fish and one clay pigeon at a time.
Luke spent so many of his days in the company of his best friends. Luke didn't just have friends, he had all best friends, because that's how he made them feel. And, over these past 19 years, when Luke wasn't with these buds he was with his partner in crime and Papaw, Jim Pierce; his wizarding alpha gal personal chef Mimi; or his deeply devoted mom, Kelly Pierce.
One day at a time, one project at a time, one adventure at a time, whether building rifles, rifle rests, and chicken coups, or, going to trap shoots, car shows, while delivering flowers and making TikToks.... each and every day, over these past 19 years, Luke showed up as the sunshine of his friend's and family's lives.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 1, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Living Water Church with a Lantern Release At Sunset. 200 Fogg Pike, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
Luke will be laid to rest by his Papaw Jim Pierce in the Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, KY.
