Larry Sherman Oakley

Larry Sherman Oakley, husband of Donna Hayes Oakley, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was a 61 year old born in Falls Church, VA to the late John and Iris Collard Oakley, a former retail wholesaler who loved the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Hayes Oakley; a son, Michael Oakley (Brooke); 2 daughters, Sarah Oakley and Ashley Hedges; 4 grandchildren, Zachary Oakley (Jordan), Tyler Oakley, Andrew Purvis (Taylor Crowe) and Conner Purvis; a great grandson, Wyatt Russell Oakley; 3 brothers, Mike Oakley (Pam), Henry Oakley (Julie) and Dennis Oakley (Missy); a sister, Iris Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, John Oakley (Vickie).

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals. Visitation will take place prior to the celebration of life from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
