Lela Wyatt Poynter

Lela Wyatt Poynter, 91, of Frenchburg, formerly of Mt. Sterling passed away August 8, at Edgewood Estates.

Lela was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling.  She was the daughter of the late Lemuel Kirk and Nettie Oliver Wyatt. Mrs. Poynter was a retired deli clerk at Wal-Mart and a member of the Christian faith.

She is survived by one daughter Elizabeth (Sean) Kiper, three grandchildren; Chase Kiper, Cassie Kiper, and Caitlyn Kiper, all of Mt. Sterling.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Williamson and Retha Hasty.

Her funeral service is at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Monday at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
