Mack Arthur Compton, age 80, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. Mack was born March 4, 1945 to the late Garfield and Lizzie Matney Compton in Jeffersonville, KY. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Mack worked at Hobart for 24 years and was a farmer.
Mack is survived by 2 daughters-Benita Carter of Mt. Sterling and Melanie (Paul) Tabor of Jeffersonville; 1 son Robert (Dora) Compton of Mt. Sterling; 5 grandchildren-MacKenzie (Derek) Smith, Kaylee Compton, Karlee (Maddox) Hughbanks, Dustin (Kathryn) Tabor, Josh (Taylor) Tabor; 3 great grandchildren-Kimber Tabor, Tanner Tabor, Walker Tabor.
Besides his parents, Mack was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Betty” Ingram Compton; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals Chapel. Officiating will be Scott Barnes.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Lovely-Amburgery Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers: Dustin Tabor, Derek Smith, Tim Ingram, Thomas Ingram, Todd Ingram, Kenny McVey.
Honorary Pallbearers: Danny Ingram, Ricky Ingram, Wayne Ingram, Josh Tabor, Richie McVey, Maddox Hughbanks.
